Regarding the hope that other safeties would stop damage.
Stuxnet was programmed to prevent the other safeties from working.
Good point.
I don’t think the hackers have ethics. They just don’t want to commit a crime in their own country to keep off the local authorities radar.
“Hackers with ethics” does feel like an oxymoron.
