I am noticing this from past 2-3 episodes.
Fix it if you can.Anyway, its not a major issue.
I liked how this episode was a bit more technical than usual
Keep sharing more such technical stuff
Gary – there can be a good reason to ask “Why” sometimes. I was writing formulas in Lotus 1-2-3, probably almost 30 years ago, and I needed a function to test the data type in a cell. The built-in function I found had options. Something like “1 for text, 2 for logical, 3 for integer, etc”. I can’t remember what I needed, but the user manual didn’t list the option flag for what, at the time, I considered a reasonable data type to test for. My company had a support contract with Lotus, so I opened a case. My question was simply “Why isn’t there an option flag to test for X data type?” Support escalated to the development team, and the answer came back: “There IS an option for that! We just forgot to put it in the documentation!!”
I taught a lot of instructor led classes on networking hardware and software. Our mantra in the training department at Sun Microsystems was, for every topic covered (basically, every page of our training manual), we should convey to our students “What, Why and How”. More recently I have coached classes on various topics using self-paced packages from publishing vendors like Houghton Miflin and others. Teaching using these tools, my biggest complaint is that the exercises are so focused on ‘How’ to do tasks that the publisher is very ineffective teaching the students ‘Why’ they would want to use a feature of the tool.
