Show Notes
- This last weekend Leo was out supporting the regional two-day Bike MS event, during which an unusual overnight thunder and lightning storm got everyone’s attention, and made sleeping difficult. More on why this is so unusual for the area from The Seattle Times.
- In addition to moving to a new home, and coming to us from his brand new basement office, Kevin attended the Fujiama Atari Show … in Germany.
- We discussed the upcoming Apple event, what might or might not be announced, and whether 5G is something worth waiting for. (Spoiler: probably not.)
- Leo mentioned that Notepad is moving to the Microsoft Store, and hoped that more apps would make the move. In addition the venerable PowerToys for Windows is coming back, this time as a free open-source project.
- This week’s irony: the CEO of Twitter had his Twitter account hacked, apparently by very simple means: social engineering of telephone company customer service agents resulting in a SIM swap. (Consider putting a PIN on your mobile account, Jack.)
- Disney is getting deeper into LARP (Live Action Role Playing — though they wouldn’t call it that) with a Star Wars themed “cruise”.
- Young Sheldon gets in trouble, along with The Walking Dead and others for airing the Emergency Broadcast System tones. The FCC does not approve.
